How embarrising

It was spring and I was just coming into my element. I'll be honest with you I'm not bad looking or even boring, infact I think im quite attractive and funny and witty (not just a pretty face in otherwords). But I have always been shy, which explains 17. In otherwords I had just never really taken any sort of initiative, more through fear of rejection actually rather than not wanting to. Was in the sorry state of thinking that it was better not to try at all and not get any rejections than to try a couple of times and get a result.

Anyway to the story. As I was saying I was just coming into my element, growing in confidence and going out to bars clubs etc. So, I was out with some friends, 2 lads I know from school and 3 girls who one of them knew. (cause he was going out with one of them). We went around a few bars and we were all just chatting and getting along well, then my mate and his gf went off back to his car... Leaving just 4 of us. My other friend, being more streetwise in these situations casually said to me "which one do you want?". Being scared shitless by this and trying to hide the fact that I was scared shitless I ofcourse say I really don't mind.

So were in the club sat down in the seating area, picture it: me, my mate, her sat on his lap. This is how it happened. (not ideal, theres quite alot of pressure on you when you don't know what your doing and your being watched by one of your best friends, not that im trying to make excuses) So she leaned in, and I followed in suit and it lasted about 5 seconds, then she lent back and said to my friend (not sure I was meant to hear this, did wonders for my confidence for the next 3 days)"that was shit". Admittedly at this point I hadn't actually blown my chance yet and there was another one later on when we were just messing about in town at like 2am, but still rejection is pretty hard to take for some people (me)so that was the stellar end to the night of my first time.

Wasn't all bad though, met up with her a few weeks later and redeemed myself and got my pride back.
